The 1,500m² project for Alva Studios, called Alva Studios West, has already been used for photo-shoots with celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, David Beckham, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller. Renowned photographer Mario Testino has also carried out shoots in the space.

Ackroyd Lowrie director Jon Ackroyd said: ‘For us the greatest achievement is that we managed to fulfil an incredibly ambitious brief.’

Design features include automated ceilings, mechanical green screens and automated daylight control. The practice said its proposals were a ’contemporary interpretation of the industrial warehouse’ making use of distressed timber.
