Positive Progress For Portsmouth Student Accommodation Scheme
Positive progress continues on the Guildhall Walk student accommodation scheme in Portsmouth, which is now under construction.
The development at No. 10 Guildhall Walk will deliver 61 student units, combining the sensitive conversion of the existing building with a new build element to the rear of the site.
During construction, a series of amendments to the approved consent were secured to improve both buildability and viability, while carefully responding to the site’s heritage context and its setting within the wider Conservation Area. This included agreed changes to the façade and roof materials, ensuring the scheme remains in keeping with the character of the existing building and surrounding area.
The project demonstrates how collaborative working between the project team and local authority officers can support high quality delivery on constrained, heritage sensitive, city centre sites.
