Soho Restaurant Restoration Complete

We’re pleased to share that Mountain restaurant has opened at 16-18 Beak Street, a beautiful building in the heart of Soho that we have been refurbishing for the last few years with DTZI, CogentBC, Quinn Ross Consultants Ltd, Clancy Consultancy and Scott Osborn Ltd.

The project included a full strip out, reconfiguration of the space and basement waterproofing along with the refurbishment of the historical street frontage.

The space was once host to a Victorian Members Club, and it was a real joy to strip the building back to its historic form. The main restaurant space is bathed in natural light thanks to a band of enormous windows running the length of the building, showcasing its exquisite pale wood furnishings, wine-bottle-lined shelving and bustling open kitchen. Descend the stairs and you'll find a moodier, darker space dominated by a bar stocked with vinyl and cocktail garnishes, as well as a monstrous wood-burning oven.

Plus it has already been featured in The Nudge and The Guardian! Renowned restaurant critic, Grace Dent had this to say about her visit: “every new Tomos Parry restaurant creates a gasping hubbub that you cannot manufacture or pay for. (…) Now we have Mountain in Soho, a bigger space set over two floors, with more cooking on fire, more muted, industrial-rustic decor, more painstakingly sourced ingredients such as ex-dairy beef and sobrassada. (…) Mountain is buzzy, delicious, destination dining in the middle of Soho.”

Thank you to Antoine Reaud and Joe Maguire for your excellent work on the refurbishment of the ground and basement to create a fantastic space for this amazing restaurant. We can’t wait to book a table!
