Climate Change Event with the Jason Roberts Foundation

We were pleased to host another event with the Jason Roberts Foundation (JRF) last week (13 October) to continue educating and training the next generation. Focusing on the climate change agenda, we partnered with Brent Council and Higgins Partnerships to lead a discussion on key topics including the effects of carbon emissions, carbon footprints and how we can reduce them, what we can do to prevent global warming, and the benefits of recycling. JRF youth ambassadors posed some tough questions to all the panellists and also had the opportunity to tour some of our latest low and zero carbon projects through our Virtual Reality headsets.

Our director, Oli Lowrie said: “It’s so encouraging to see the level of interest these young people have in how we can look after ourselves and our environments. They genuinely want to make a difference in their community and are keen to learn how we approach design, how we use green technologies and materials, and the options we consider; they made some really insightful observations. Of course, the VR headsets are a great tool for helping understanding too; I was able to demonstrate how we use it to test the lifespan of materials and ensure a building can last as long as possible.“
