Construction Begins on West Midlands Homes

A residential development we designed for 18 high-quality homes and apartments in Walsall, West Midlands has started on site.

The former industrial site at King Charles Avenue will now be transformed into a courtyard-style development which honours the site’s mining heritage.

“Our design for this scheme sought to celebrate the site’s former use with a modern interpretation,” explains our director, Oli Lowrie. “Part of the site actually still contains a discussed mineshaft so we have prioritised the landscaping and repurposed this as an appealing communal space and focal point for residents.

“The predominant material is red brick while asymmetrical notched windows, black aluminium framing, generous glazing, glass balustrades, and a fun series of pitched roofs pick up on the local architectural character. With construction now underway, we’re excited to see our design come to life.”

In addition to the new homes, which are all dual aspect with private garden or balcony, the development at King Charles Avenue includes parking, cycle storage, play space and 1,184m² of beautiful landscaping including the retention of existing trees and hedgerows.
